Events to inspire you

We know so many of you have been training hard for cycling events that have now been postponed or (worse still) cancelled. So, to focus on the future and keep motivations levels high we're creating a list of events which we're looking forward to once we’re out of COVID-19 lock down.

We'd love to hear about the events you're looking forward to so we can add it to this list.  Email us at fondo@fondo.com.au or get in touch via social media @fondocycling.

High Country Women's Cycling Festival, Bright, Victoria, Australia

High Country Women's Cycling Festival is a weekend celebration of women's cycling held in Bright, one of Australia's most most beautiful and cycling friendly towns.  On Saturday, riders climb Mt Buffalo (26km, 5% average gradient) then refuel at a Lycra Lunch party including a delish lunch and fashions on the field (lycra of course).

For those up for another challenge there is a "recovery" ride on Sunday from Mt Beauty to Falls Creek, 26km of rolling hills then a 3km climb to the top where a warm drink is definetly needed.

The Buderim Nine Challenge, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia

This is one for the hill climbers!  Held annually in December, riders have 3 hours to cover 76 km including 9 hill climbs in and around the breathtaking Sunshine Coast hinterland.  The 9 hills are short, ranging between 1 - 3 kms each, but you'll definetly feel the pinch.  5 of the climbs have a high gradient of 18% or more and the highest, Lindsay Road, hits 21.9%. Ouch!! A great way to burn off some silly season calories!
